Vasari on Michelangelo Making Models for the Medici Chapel

Vasari states:

"Michelangelo thought it time to go to Rome and "xeive the commands of Pope Clement. His Holiness forgave all and commanded that he should complete San Lorenzo. Some of the statues were given to other sculptors to do, though Michelangelo made rough models in clay for all of them. Michelangelo worked on the library. The ceiling and shelves and the stucco work were done by good masters in their vocations. Michelangelo wished to complete his statues, too, but he was summoned to Rome by Pope Clement to paint the Last Judgment on the wall behind the altar in the [Sistine] Chapel."
