| this is a small section of a painting showing four models by Michelangelo. the painting called "Sight", is by Jan Brueghel the "Elder"(1568-1625) and is one of a series of five painted around the year 1617 and which are now in the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain. the painting shows the four models three of which are now lost the Night, Heroic Captive, and Dying Captive. the dawn appears to be identical to the Dawn in the Victoria & Albert Museum. In the Petri Collection there is more of a base on the Dawn Model. |
